About the project
Kyprou Apartment takes a fragmented maisonette and gives it a clearer centre. The existing two-level plan is reorganised around a new circular timber stair, turning a piece of circulation into the element that holds the apartment together.
The wider refurbishment works within the existing shell, with new kitchen and bathrooms, integrated storage, internal doors, lighting, flooring and finishes. Existing external windows and doors are retained rather than replaced. Alongside the visible work, previous alterations are coordinated and regularised against the approved building record. The result is a more coherent home achieved largely from within the existing footprint, with the new stair providing both orientation and identity.
